FAQs

How does Botox work?

Botulinum toxin, commonly known as Botox, is a muscle relaxing neurotoxin.

It works by temporarily relaxing the muscle activity by blocking signals to the muscle injected. This reduced activity helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

What can I expect from Botox treatment?

Glass Face is a clinician led clinic, so you can expect a full medical consultation (for FREE) before any treatment is administered. We also pride ourselves on our aftercare, and offer revision appointments 2 weeks following treatment.

Treatment: The treatment time is dependant on number of areas treated. Downtime is as little as 30 minutes.

Once injected, it can take from just 3 -14 days to see the full effect. Treatment effects can last from 6 weeks up to 3 months on average.

How often should I get Botox treatments?

Most patients return for a revision at 2 weeks after their first treatment, this is so we can ensure that you are happy with the outcome.

After this, we recommend that you come back for follow up treatments every 3 months in order to maintain the desired result. Over time, less frequent treatments are required if you are consistent.

Does Botox have any side effects?

The most common side effects associated with Botox are mild and usually temporary.

Side Effects:

  • Redness or swelling in the injected area
  • Tenderness or bruising
  • Dull headache

More severe side effects can include difficulty breathing and require immediate medical attention.
