What is a Diode Laser?

An effective and medical grade diode laser hair removal device is designed to reduce unwanted hair growth by targeting the hair follicles with laser energy.

How Does Laser Remove Hair?

Using a specific wavelength of light that is selectively absorbed by the melanin surrounding the hair follicle, the laser is applied to the skin. The generated heat is conducted down to the base of the follicle and coagulates or cuts of the blood flow to the follicle. At the same time the specific “cool freeze” technology cools the skin to protect and avoid any damage to the surrounding skin. The hair will be destroyed and removed permanently and over the next week will fall out leaving the skin hair free and smooth.

Is it suitable for all skin types?

YES! The laser we use at Glass Face is suitable for all skin types.

How many sessions are needed?

The number of sessions can vary depending on individual hair growth patterns and the area being treated. At any one time only 70% of hairs in the skin are dormant and not visible on the surface. Therefore for maximum clearance additional treatments are required for each phase of hair growth. Typically, you can see noticeable effects after just 2 sessions. For long-lasting results, we recommend at least 6 sessions, spaced 4-6 weeks apart. You will remain hair-free between treatments.

Is it painful?

Our laser has a crystal freeze technology, rendering it painless compared to other laser hair removal devices. However, some discomfort may still be experienced, and it can vary from person to person.

Are there any side effects?

Common side effects may include temporary redness, swelling, and irritation in the treated area. These usually subside within a few hours to a day.

How long does each session take?

Each session typically takes about 15-60 minutes, depending on the size of the area being treated. For our full body package, please allow up to 90 minutes.

Is the treatment permanent?

While a laser hair removal system can significantly reduce hair growth long term, it may not guarantee permanent hair removal for some clients. Some clients may require occasional touch-up sessions.

Can I use it at home?

The laser we use is designed for professional use by trained clinicians. It is not recommended for at-home use due to the precision and safety measures required.
